LeAnn Rimes biography
LeAnn Rimes biggest hit How Do I Live (1998) introduced her to a British audience, but it was an earlier single Blue back in her native US that broke her a new artist.
Rimes was spotted in Dallas, Texas, the year she released her first album when she was 11. It was a local DJ and record promoter Bill Mack who was impressed with her talents and hatched a plan to break her into the mainstream. The main thrust of his plan was a song called Blue which claimed was written for the legendary country singer Patsy Cline. Mack said that Cline had died before she recorded it, adn they had waited 30 years to find
successor worthy to sing it. In truth the song had been covered by at least three other artists, but the story was repeated in the music press and captured the public imagination.
However dodgy the plan, it worked. Rimes became an enormous success in the States winning Grammy awards, Country Music awards and Billboard awards.
The new single Can't Fight The Music is from the film Coyote Ugly.
